About This Property

Room to live a little differently, with a backyard worth staying home for. With two separate bedroom wings, 835 Cheltenham offers a flexible layout for everyday living, hosting, or exploring potential rental income. A detached shed converted into an office adds a dedicated space to work or create.Set on approximately .22 acres, this warm Santa Barbara bungalow opens to a lush, terraced garden that unfolds one level at a time. A generous deck sets the scene for outdoor dining, followed by a garden level with planting boxes, a gas firepit nestled among greenery, and a lower artificial lawn with a playground. Each level offers its own reason to linger, from tending the garden to gathering with friends or enjoying an afternoon outside.Inside, hardwood floors and a wraparound, glass-enclosed fireplace connect the living and dining rooms, while the updated kitchen features granite countertops, all-new appliances, and a bay window overlooking the garden. French doors connect the bedrooms to outdoor decks, bringing the garden into everyday life. Recent improvements include a new roof, fresh interior and exterior paint, and a fully remodeled bathroom, pairing the home's warmth and character with thoughtful updates.Near the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, Museum of Natural History, Mission and Rose Garden, hiking trails, and downtown restaurants and shops, this home brings together a garden retreat and the freedom to make the space your own.
