Residence by Robert Skinner, AIA, 1968: While not widely known by the general public, Skinner has made significant contributions to the architectural fabric of Trousdale Estates, and Coldwater Canyon where he lived for many years building his designs. Early work such as his house on Cherokee, & modernist masterpiece on Castle Place were executed in the flat roof post & beam style. By the late 1960s, when this residence was built, he had moved on to more of a chalet style which affords the same light filled interiors, but provides more dramatic space with pitched high ceilings as displayed here. A secure walled entry at the street presents an anonymous facade to passersby, belying the drama of the interiors inside. The split level open plan living and dining areas are anchored by a chiseled stone floor to ceiling fireplace, & open through glass walls to a generous patio. A discrete second entry leads to an oversized living space & bath ideal for an in home professional ofc.

ZIP averages use publicly displayable closed sales from our licensed MLS feed, matched to the same ZIP and exact property type. Months with fewer than 3 sales are omitted; the current month is incomplete. Lines connect available monthly observations across gaps and do not represent measured prices in missing months. These averages are not adjusted for size, condition, or location within the ZIP, and are not an appraisal. Feed coverage may not include every sale. All available shows the available home and ZIP history, with mortgage rates over the same dates.
Mortgage benchmark: Freddie Mac Primary Mortgage Market Survey®. © Freddie Mac. Weekly national 30-year fixed rates, not APRs or a loan quote. Actual terms vary. Methodology changed in November 2022. The chart does not establish that interest-rate changes caused a home’s price changes.
Lines connect recorded asking and sale prices. They are visual guides, not estimates of the home’s value between those dates.
No earlier records were returned by our current sources. This does not mean the home has never sold.
MLS records may be incomplete. Earlier asking prices are not sale prices.
