American houses have generally reflected a strong bias toward English-inspired styles, however during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, builders in parts of the country with a Spanish heritage began to follow quite a different vision--or, to be more precise, several different visions. Influence by the Arts & Crafts movement, with its emphasis on simplicity, vernacular building practices and regional history, architects in Florida, southwestern states & California began to produce distinctive designs base on examples from each region's particular Spanish past. The first flurry of national interest in Spanish architecture and heritage appeared at the end of the 19th century. ZIP averages use publicly displayable closed sales from our licensed MLS feed, matched to the same ZIP and exact property type. Months with fewer than 3 sales are omitted; the current month is incomplete. Lines connect available monthly observations across gaps and do not represent measured prices in missing months. These averages are not adjusted for size, condition, or location within the ZIP, and are not an appraisal. Feed coverage may not include every sale. All available shows the available home and ZIP history, with mortgage rates over the same dates.
Mortgage benchmark: Freddie Mac Primary Mortgage Market Survey®. © Freddie Mac. Weekly national 30-year fixed rates, not APRs or a loan quote. Actual terms vary. Methodology changed in November 2022. The chart does not establish that interest-rate changes caused a home’s price changes.
Lines connect recorded asking and sale prices. They are visual guides, not estimates of the home’s value between those dates.
No earlier records were returned by our current sources. This does not mean the home has never sold.
MLS records may be incomplete. Earlier asking prices are not sale prices.
